02 Grand Am bad fuel pump?
The car ran good until my wife went to leave and it started, ran rough for a second then stalled. I checked fuses, relays, and the security light is not on. I pressed the schrader valve and fuel came out but not much pressure. Whenever I turn the key on I hear no noise or humming. The fuel filter was changed last year. I'm going to see if I can get ahold of a pressure gage and check it but i'm almost certain it's the pump. I think i'm just going to drop the tank and put a new pump in...

Try this: bang on the bottom of the tank, there is a chance that it move the pump a bit, causing it to work again.
This would confirm the pump problem... |

I took a rubber mallet and banged all over the bottom of the tank but nothing happened. Oh well, I'll figure it out.

Re: 02 Grand Am bad fuel pump?
I dropped a Delphi pump in the tank and threw a Delco filter on and the car runs like a champ!

Re: 02 Grand Am bad fuel pump?
Was there access for the fuel pump under the rear seat or trunk?

Re: 02 Grand Am bad fuel pump?
No, I removed the backseat and there's nothing under there. The only thing holding the tank up are the two metal straps. It took about 3hrs.
