speedometer problem

hi i have a 1992 2dr regal custom coupe and the speedometer works right now and has always for the past 2 years i have had it however just a few times in the 2 years i have started the car up and the digital speedometer came on but just showed 0 mph even when driving but when i shut off the car then turn it right back on it works. it has done this about 2 or 3 times in 2 years so really not worried about it right now but guessing it is the start of something????

My 2001 has the digital mileage reading and gear position that slowly went out. It's the result of loosening solder connections to the instrument cluster. Had it pulled and serviced today, finally, and it works perfectly. $325 at Hamp's Speedometer Shop in Roswell, GA. If you can pull the cluster, he'll fix yours and ship it back to you for about $150.
