Unhappy Dead in the water

Well I thought my 350Z with the SAS kit would be finished in time for a model contest this weekend, but I guess Im not going to make the show with it in tow.
I have painted it twice now and both times screwed up the paint job!!
So much for that one. Im hoping third times a charm!!
I can't complain much-between striping and repainting a second time Ive had time to finish another kit thats going to the show! So there is a silver lineing after all!! :jumpie:

Well the first time I painted it the paint went on very smooth and with out much orange peel. In fact I finished polishing and had two coats of gloss on it before I screwed it up.
I did something I forgot about I put two coats of clear instead of just one. Something about my gloss that I use is there is a big difference in dry time between two coats of gloss and just one coat of gloss. One coat will dry hard in 48-72 hours but if you put on a second coat over that time frame it will take another 2 weeks to 3 to dry!!!
So anyway-long story longer, I forgot this rule and thought the gloss was dry all the way(finger print test) so I added some tape to the body to mask off panel lines for paint-painted them and pulled off the tape to reveal the tape had dug lines through out the gloss. I tried for over an hour to just get out the top lines with no avail. I tried several different types of compound and scratch remover. So into the striper.
Now on the second run Im not sure what happened. It might have been the weather (damp-but slightly warm) but the first coat went on great with just a few inperfections to sand out-did that and went to paint the second coat and tiny little bubbles appeared all over the car
So I said Fuck it and chuncked it back in the striper.

Thats my sad story and Im sticking to it.....
