Nissan Leaf rated for 99 MPG

sorry guys I thought this was pretty neat but I wasnt sure where to put it.

Here is the article:
http://www.automedia.com/blog/post/2...t-99-MPGe.aspx

I know what some of you are probably thinking, "the leaf is electric how did it get an MPG rating??" The EPA did a mathematical conversion that came up with the 99 average MPG. Read the article to understand.

Re: Nissan Leaf rated for 99 MPG

Seems like they would put solar panels on the hood and roof to help charge the car a little on sunny days.

That would be a good idea but it would add about $1k-2K to the price of each car. As it is already rather expensive car for what you getting I think that would push buyers away.

Re: Nissan Leaf rated for 99 MPG

Nissan estimates that it will cost about $2.65 to fully charge the battery. Here is some more information about the LEAF that I found: http://www.energyinyourlife.com/article.php?t=100000076

What do you guys think?
