Re: Power Steering ??

The steering box from any A-body, '64-'72, or F-body '70-'78, will "fit". The "best" ones come from the '77 and '78 T/As with WS-6 suspension packages. '79-newer are "metric", and can still be adapted, but fasteners are all different, as are the hose fittings. The pump should be calibrated for the steering box used, not "the car". Mounting brackets and pulleys will need to come from a "donor car", but care must be taken to keep all the right "era" components. Water pump and timing cover era are critical. Entire "kits" are available for this, too, through mail-order houses such as Summit or Jeg's. Ames Performance and Performance Years offer the correct pulleys and brackets "new". It CAN be a "bag of worms" to get the pulleys right.Jim

Re: Power Steering ??

This is definitely a can of worms. I am trying to find everything from a 66. Would you happen to know if the system from a 66 - 326 LeMans is the same?
Thanx

Re: Power Steering ??

To the best of my knowledge, yes, the LeMans is the same as GTO for those pieces. Jim

Re: Power Steering ??

I thought the LeMans was a 66. It is actually a 67 - as long as I get all the components will it still work OK?
Thanks again
