Fuel Lines

I'm having a time with an 86 Z I just bought. I think someone has been toying with it, that wasn't quite sure what they were doing. Anyway, in the engine compartment there are the fuel lines that are coming to and from the gas tank. I need someone to verify which one is the supply and which one is the return.
The two lines that come up from the right side of the engine(passenger side) from the bottom of the car. One line is shorter than the other. I'm thinking the shorter one is the supply line and the taller is the return. The past owner bypassed the ECU and fuel relay and had the pump grounding wire going straight to the frame making it pump all the time with the key in ignition. AND, what I think is the supply line going straight into the fuel rail instead of the regulator and the return line going to the regulator. The car was running like and driveable, but I want to correct the problem.

Re: Fuel Lines

Thanks for the reply, after some research it shows that the gas lines are correct.
There's not as many people on this forum as there used to be when I had my 88.
Are the Z fans falling off or what? Guess it's getting harder to keep the old Z's on the road.
Iv'e always loved them. Damn rust always seems to ruin them though.

Re: Fuel Lines

This has never been a particularly high traffic board, five or six people is the most I've ever seen consistently post at one time. While there is the inevitable attrition that takes cars off the road there are still plenty in the hands of active enthusiasts. I don't know what the best board for Z31s is any more but I'm sure there is one.
