Front Stabalizer Bar

Pulled the front wheel off to check the pads and found the stabalizer bar bushing was completely off the bar. Somehow one of the bolts must have come out..?? !!! Anyway, it was just hanging there.

What all do I have to remove to put a new one on? It looks like it sits right on the frame so I don't think I can slide a new one on without taking some stuff apart. ?

Is it ok to drive as is (without the bushing) for a few days until I get a chance to fix it?

Also...looking at RockAuto...seeing a few different sizes for bushings. Which is the correct one?

Re: Front Stabalizer Bar

The stabilizer bar has a pretty complicated bushing assembly that ties it to the A arm or swing arm. It can be replaced with little fuss once you get the right part. The bar itself often fails and is not hard to replace.
Which do you want to replace? See my photos in this thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1048704 for some examples.

Re: Front Stabalizer Bar

Do you have to drop the whole sub-frame to get at the bar?

Re: Front Stabalizer Bar

You shouldn't have to. It might be a little tight to put a socket wrench on the back bracket bolts, but a those ratcheting wrenches ought to do the trick.
