95 Blazer Won't Start
Hello, I have a 1995 Blazer. The other day I was working on my trolling boat motor and wanted to plug it into a battery to test. I started up my Blazer and brought it inside my garage. I shut it off and hooked up the motor. Tested the motor and other worked. I jumped into my Blazer to start it up and it just made one click and nothing. I tried jump starting it and could not get anything to happen. For the past few months the Volts have been moving on the gauge from the middle down to the red at times. Could I just have a bad alternator????

Re: 95 Blazer Won't Start
With everything turned off, what is the voltage reading across the battery posts? Use digital multimeter. The generic spec for a full charge is 12.6 volts. If the battery is down, take it off and get it charged. With engine running, take second reading across battery posts. The second reading should be higher than the first if the charging system is working.

Re: 95 Blazer Won't Start
How long or how much did you run the trolling motor or leave key on or listen to raido?
Just a short test should not kill battery. Have you checked the batery terminals for clean and tight. AS said check battery voltage at battery. If not 13.4-13.6 volts charge or replace battery. Then check alternator out put. Post back how it goes.
