1997 Monte Carlo LS- Engine Stall and p0341 Code
1997 Monte Carlo LS, ~188,000 miles
My brother's car was flashing an engine light on him. He says the car shut off on him while driving, too. I sent him to pull codes, and code p0341 came up, camshaft position sensor. How can I test the sensor before replacing it? Is there anything else that can trigger the code? I don't want to throw parts at it, but I think he's overdue for a tune-up.

He agreed to a tune-up, needing it even if it doesn't fix the problem.
So, I replaced the wires, plugs (all 6), and cleaned the MAF sensor. The light hasn't come back on yet; so far so good.

Re: 1997 Monte Carlo LS- Engine Stall and p0341 Code
The light returned, so I replaced the camshaft sensor. One of the wires coming out of the sensor was bare for a bout 1/4" at the sensor.
Just waiting to see if the light comes back on; so far so good.
