First time caller....long time listener!

Hey all! I have browsed here for while, but have just now signed up.

First I want to say hello to all!

I own a 92 Mustang LX which is far from stock and is my baby.

Beyond that....I have been doing car modeling for a long time.....well....I am 33 and I remember when I was about 7 waking up on a weekend morning and my Dad would be working on his models and I would watch.

Anyways, its been years since I have dug out my models but I really want to get back into it. I have mostly done cars, and the following pics are models I have had sitting for about 4 years, thus they are pretty dusty.

I have read a lot of the tips and FAQ's on here about details and polishing, etc. I am going to start collecting materials and tools again based on what I have read....but here are some of the models I dug out and hope to complete in the near future.

Most of the painted bodies have the orange peel which I hope I can remedy based on the tips on here. The ol' truck model....its one I was pretty dang proud of. The interior, which is super dusty in the pics, was all painted by hand. No taping or anything. Just an unsteady hand! LOL.

The Mustang Cobra...same deal. I painted the black and tan by hand, including around the dash trying to make it look original. And the window trim...geez I read the post about taping it off....seems way easier than the method I used of painting it by hand and having a toothpick soaked in thinner to clean as I go.

Oh, and the truck wheels....the blue....I used the same spray and thinned it out and brushed the spokes by hand as well.

The green drag car was my attempt at piecing together various bits to make it different...not sure if I can complete that or not....but I thought it looked mean!

And the Baldwin Camaro....well that kit is complete other than the spray I did to that body. Orange peel and all.

Bear with me....I am gonna post pics now of the models I just pulled out, ignore the dust!

Excuse the crappy phone pics....but this is where I am starting now.

Some q-tips to dust em off....

and hopefully these long dead models will at least come out presentable! They have sat too long!

welcome to AF, not bad at all on your models. With the truck model i think it looks good with the dust in the bed. It actually looks like its meant to be there. Good luck on your future projects.

Re: First time caller....long time listener!

Hello and welcome.

The dust on the blue truck actually looks great as a weathering effect and I'm sure would look right at home in a junkyard diorama . Looking forward to seeing what you'll post in the future.
