VolksWagen MkIV Golf R32

Finally finished and happy to get it off my bench. This project has been going on for about 5 years off and on. I put it away for a long time as i wasn't pleased with the pillars, i painted it and never wanted to strip it down to rearrange the pillars further back. But oh well, my next one will be more accurate. I have so many in progress builds, that i just went to the one that was closest to being done and concentrated on it. Sort of like drunken monkey.

Now to the model, its a tamiya golf kit. Painted with volkswagen deep blue pearl mixed by a local shop, covered by omni clear coat. Polished up using micromesh and tamiya compounds. Still a little orange peely but i said screw it and left it. Tamiya acrylics used throughout the interior and chassis. Scratch built the roll cage from sprues. Exhuast partially scratchbuilt with the muffler and tips from a 350Z. Body modded with milliput 2-part epoxy, i love this stuff!! And a few other changes.

Parts used:
Fujimi BBS 18" LM wheels
Crazy Modeler badges
Fujimi disc brakes drilled out
KS Aluminum mesh
I think i used lancer seats
2mm ribbon for seat belts
Studio 27 pe seat buckles
mixture of grey and black flocking
Detail master aluminum shift knob
Fujimi PE wipers
Skyline sideskirts

Here are some quick pics, ill take some better ones with a nice background soon! Hope you like and comments and critisism always accepted.

Oh crap i just noticed i forgot to paint the inside of the exhaust tips dont kill me.

Very sharp. Excellent body colour along with choice of rims. Great work.

er... i'm glad i inspire...

but i know how you feel on both counts; too many started kits and hat feeling when something isn't 100%.
this is one of my favourite 'real world' cars and even if it isn't perfect, it still looks great.

Re: VolksWagen MkIV Golf R32

I remember this build many years ago! its good to see that i'm not the only one that gets bogged down on projects and could take years to finish a model lol Congrats in finally getting it of your bench. It was worth the wait, it turned out great, color, mods everything.

Nice Volkswagen you have here.
You made it a very good looking car.

It's funny you guys in the USA build also European cars.
In my eyes you only like Big Bangers, but that's false I see.

In my youht I also had a VW golf, it was a Mk.2 but what the f.....
It was a GTI 16V without a Kat. I lowered it and put some Dutch yellow Koni shocks under it. Damn that car was fast and sticked to the road.

Yeah, thats my baby. 2004 18T with a few bolt-ons, fmic,tb exhaust, giac ecu,ca intake, blowoff, etc. Even though shes been giving me headaches lately i still love Vdubs. I plan on buying a mkIV r32 within the next year if the price is right. Im not a big fan of the mkV. But i really like mkII and mkIv the most.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
