95 Ford Escort won't start

Starting out my brother owns a 95 Ford Escort LX with a 1.9L engine, he started getting a loop open sign on the scantool and saw most people say oxygen sensor so with 69k miles he changed it, after 30 minutes he would get loop open and the car would bog out. then the car quit completely, they probed and found the cam sensor was dead so they changed that, car ran enough for him to go to a friends house and come home then the next day it was dead again (cranking but no joy) now we have pulsation to the injectors, we have spark, we have fuel up to the rail but it still will not start. if you spray into the throttle body it will run then die. a friend told him that the injectors went bad but I really dont see all 4 going at once. we also swapped the computer with a known good one and no change.

Any and all help is appreciated

Re: 95 Ford Escort won't start

It's a fuel delivery problem if it starts with starting fluid sprayed into the throttle body.
Verify if the fuel pump works. Should be able to hear it turn on for a second or two when the switch is turned to ON. If the pump's not running check the fuel pump inertia switch in the trunk. Looking towards the front it's on the right side of the trunk about half way up. There should be an access hole in the carpet with a door to open. Even a minor bump will turn the fuel pump off. Check that the button on top is pressed down. If it still isn't running check the fuel pump fuse and the relay.

Check the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors. Check the ground wire for the injectors. Check the resistance across the terminals of the injector. It should be 11 to 18 ohms.

Check the fuel pressure. It should be 35 to 40 lbs. with the engine off.

If the fuel pump is working and the fuel pressure isn't up to par replace the fuel filter. It's on the firewall on the drivers side of the engine bay. It's below the brake master cylinder reservoir.

Check the fuel injector fuse under the hood.

Re: 95 Ford Escort won't start

Ok update, fuel would not be an issue we had fuel to the rail. Last ditch effort my brother tapped on each injector a few times and it started. maybe a stuck injector? the electrical connecstors on each injector were disconnected to put the lights on them and see if they were getting voltage. Thank you all for the ideas but who would have known a bfh would work.
