$1000 for a 'vert mustang

Ok, So I just bought a Ford and am wondering what is the various STOCK gear ratios available in a limited slip rear end with disc brakes. I only paid a thousand dollars for the car...had to smog it my self and get the registration up to date. So, basically, right now I got about $1,200 into it. The car is a red 1991 convertible Mustang GT. It has a fiberglass hood on it, some type of KMC wheels on it with new tires. It needs a paint job and NONE of the dash guages work. The convertible top is like new. Anyhow, I would like to swap out the entire rear end and put in a used one with a quicker accelerating gear ratio. The car has a 5 speed and a 5.0 V8 As a side note, I can get a cam shaft with a set of lifters and a double roller timing (chain) set from my cousin. I dont know if the lifters are solid or hydraulic. I know they are not roller lifters and also these pieces are used but still been stored in thier original Edlebrock boxes for about a year or longer. I forget the specs of the cam but from what I remember, I think I saw fs-288h-12 on the cam and box.

Re: $1000 for a 'vert mustang

Well, here is a slight update. I just got back from my cousins house. I got the cam shaft, lifters and timing set. I thought they were Edlebrock but actually they are manufactured by Competition Cams. The ID number on the factory packaging is #31-226-2 also the cam is FS 280H-10........I think that means this cam is for Ford small block with 280 degrees duration, Hydraulic lifters and 10 degrees of lobe seperation. The cam I think is a Magnum and also the lifters are High Energy...not sure about the timing set...It is made by the same Comp Cams company.
