carbon parts
Seeing that my civic wasn't very powerful. I decided when i built it to make it lighter. I want to do the same with my 240sx. I love my interior so its staying (s13 interior is better than an integra btw). I enjoy saving weight where ever i can. As far as, engine and drive train components go, i'm fine. What i'm really looking for is a carbon lip spoiler for mY base 240sx coupe, a carbon hood and perhapse a carbon trunk lid aswell. I'm sure finding the hood is easy but what about the lip spoiler and trunk lid? Custom fabrication will not be an option of mine either.

no front lips, thats a fad thing..... but you can get Carbon Fiber Hoods, Doors(racing only---not for street, no structural value.) Carbon Fiber Trunk Lids can be found, I have no idea how much they cost though, you can probably get generic carbon fiber ricer wings...Im sure you will want a wing.....
 but I myself would get a fiberglass one, still light enough.... Replica 180sx Type X or a Bomex Wangan wing. but if you really want to save weight.............. why put on a front lip?

no wing for me. if i did i'd want it to be low and flush with the trunk lid (think 69 camaro). i just didn't want to do the factory front air dam on the car and wanted something cuz my base model coupe just looks like something is missing there. i was hoping for something light to fill the gap. i liked the carbon lip on my civic, it was actually the same size as the factory one so you had to look at it to see it was carbon. it finished the line of the car nicely too.

by the way, i'm not a ricer. Also, whats wrong with making my car look nice? i see you all say how hot the hippo sleek body kit is, think how much all that BS weights. but all i do is ask about a carbon lip spoiler for my car and i'm some band wagon jumping, sushi-bar winged ricer?

well your saying you want to lighten up your car then your asking us what pieces to add. Even if its light weight parts, if you really want to be lightening up your car you shuoldn't be ADDIND anything.. get my point?

WOW, less parts = less weight? you must be the smartest person i have ever met. take a second to read my post maybe, i don't like the way it seems as if something is missing from the front of my car, the bumper just drops off because the factory lip is not there. if i can get a lighter version of it i will. besides, i'm more than positive that i can save weight in other places on my car to compensate for the lip spoiler. BUT, thanks for telling my how to put MY car together, i really appreciated it.

You guys are arguing about petty shit...
he has a point, less parts USUALLY means less weight.. but of course, carbon fiber is so BLING BLING.. and so light! So, you posted for advice.. he posted a response.. get it? You're always going to get opinions. If you dont want any, dont ask. Anyone confident in their car-modding abilities doesnt go running around asking for advice, they just DO what they want to do. I agree, the S13 often times could use a bit of a lip.. but its not necessary either, its just preference. Anyway tough guys, if you want to REALLY save weight start by removing most the OEM crap thats pre-installed with every 240, from unecessary components, devices, etc.. there is just SO much you can remove, and TONS of wiring.. AC, power steering, sound deadener, emissions devices, serious.. there's a lot of stuff you can do.

i never asked for advice on making my car lighter. a monkey knows the answer to that. All i asked was if anyone made a carbon lip spoiler for my 91 240sx, AND that all i wanted to know. I didn't need some "lesson" from anyone about building my car.

hey moron. look in your original post. you specifically said "i want to make my car lighter where i can." so don't bitch him out when he tries to help you. while i personally don't know where you can get a carbon lip, i just wanted to point out that Hippo Sleek and other such manufacturers make their body kits to be light AND provide some aerodynamic merit, unlike Wings West and APC who make their kits purely for show purposes. the Hippo Sleek front bumper would probably way around the same, if not less, then the OEM unit.
