Hey, I'm new to the forums and I have a question. I'm going to get my first car soon and I'm kinda stuck on what to get. I'm wanting a decent all around good car that is mod friendly and would look nice with blue flames on it =Þ. I'm going to be taking an auto shop class next year so I can learn how to take care of my car and how to mod it. I'll only have about 5k max for a car so I was thinking a mid 90s Civic would be a good start. Any advice is appreciated.

Thx for your input Midnight. Could someone tell me how a mid 90's Civic compares to a mid 90's Integra?

Integra=way better. Most people that have civics drop in an engine from an integra, so why not just get the Teg? a 94-95 GSR is an awsome car, but I don't know if you can get one for 5K. You can definitely get an LS for 5K, but you would be much happier with a GSR-they are much quicker. And an Eagle Talon or Mitsu Eclipse is not advisable for a first car, they are not reliable at all. I've never seen an eclipse engine go past 200K miles, I see atleast a Honda a day that does.

How much are we talking for a 94-95 GSR? Pro and Cons of a GSR? Alot of questions I know but I'm serious about my buying my first car and want to well informed before I buy. Thx again.

Probably 6-7 thousand in good condition. An LS would probably be around 5-6 thousand. But the GSR is way better. First you have VTEC, which actually gives you better gas mileage if you stay out of it and just putt along in the small lobes. But the GSR is much faster than an LS and responds well to modifications.
