Transmission leak and vibration- New bearings, tires, axles
Hi all,
Just had brand new tires mounted and balanced on my '01 GTP. There was a vibration that I thought was tires, so put nice new balanced Yokohamas on...Still a vibration there, though not as bad. Just had new GM axles and wheel bearing put on a month ago; so I'm counting that out. Feels like it's coming from the transmission, even though it shifts smooth.... Along with this, Tranny is also leaking fluid- about a quart every 1000 miles- I think it's leaking out of the right side housing because the pulleys and belt under the hood on that side are getting wet. I did alot of reading on here and think that it might be the bushing in the right side transmission housing that is worn out.... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Rob |

A worn output shaft bushing in the right end of the differential could cause the vibration and the seal. leak. It's easy enough to verify by checking for play at the half-shaft right where the CV connects to the trans.
