1967 Plymouth GTX "Plum Crazier" Pro Tour

This is another one ready for the Tampa show in Oct I go to every year.... I gotta thank Dirk Joseph for the inspiration on these Pro Touring builds and I hope he likes it when I see him at the show! He provides alot of inspiration.... I think the overall build has alot of pro tour, and NASCAR look to it.... I think the rollbar and Side exit exhaust contributes to the NASCAR look. My next one I do will be a 1950 Chevrolet 3 window pickup truck. But it will be very detailed with much more scratchbuilding involved all around.... This was my first attempt at wheel blanks on the Sherline lathe. Other turned parts include the Tach and steering column in the interior, Fuel cap on the drivers quarter panel and the engine pulleys and overflow tank in the engine bay. The brake rotors were also turned pieces. The rollbar and exhaust pipes are made from solid plumbers solder. The color is called "Burple" Its a House of Kolors Kandy Basecoat.

WIP pics can be found here:

Thanks for looking!

Wow awesome colour and wheels, I love old mopars in purple. The only thing missing in my opinion is BMF on all the trim to help break up the colour.!!!

Excellent work and very nice pictures!

Could you please give more details regarding the Tampa show (date and location)? I am from Tampa and would be really interested to attend.

Thanks.

I like the Monochromatic look that seems to be a big trend in Pro Tour cars these days... thats why the bumpers, frames etc.. are body color.....

Thanks guys...

A link to the MAGS show... hope it works...

Fantastic work, a great looking GTX! I plan to do some of my muscle cars in a similar sort of style too. I think the big wheels work because the lowered stance and dish of the wheels looks just right to me! Superb!
