1987 cherokee steering wheel nut

does anyone know what size socket to use for the 1987 steering wheel retaining nut i need to pull steering wheel off (already got the puller)

Don't know the actual size. If the vehicle is driveable, drive it to the parts store. Tell them you don't know the actual size of socket that you need, that you need to try a few sockets to find one that will fit. They always let me try tools off the shelf. If they want to find the right socket, for you, that's ok, even better.
