PASSLOCK Code, Car won't start

Now I have the new computer because my old one , the injector circuit failed.
And there is a nice information sheet that says something about a security code passlock stored in memory. That may be why the YARD PCM's wouldn't run the car ! And I just noticed the "Theft System " Light is flashing after it starts, then dies right away. Didn't notice it because when sitting in the seat, the steering wheel blocked my view. The information sheet Says "the replacement ECM can only receive the PASSLOCK code after it is installed in the vehicle and a relearn performed on the ECM." Because the procedure is vehicle specific, it will be necessary to reference the vehicle service manual (or sources such as All Data or Mitchell-on-Demand) for the correct procedure. HELP; ANYONE have that! Mine is a 1999 Cavalier, 2.2L,

Re: PASSLOCK Code, Car won't start

I went on line and found a 10 minute in accessory position and then restart procedure. I tried the 10 minutes in Accessory mode . Then off and try to start. No good. Discovered I have a store made key and not the originals when I bought the car a few years back. The car will run with the old computer hooked up but injector #1 and #2 don't operate so it runs like garbage. I read somewhere that if the car is running, you can bypass it. Will it work with half the injectors working? Then how do you do the bypass?

UPDATE:
Called the dealer (good place LAKE Chevy in Lake Elsinore, Ca) and the books say no special key with a chip. It's in the ignition. Someone on one of these forums told me that the learning is done in the ON position. And verified by dealer by asking the right questions that need to do the key in the ON position for 30 mins. Then turn off and on again for another 10 mins. The PCM is learning and communicating with the other modules.
