REM wire touched my ground wire.. how can i fix the issue?

recently i installed my sub system along with my amp.. i ran all my wire etc everything was working.. except i had hooked up my amp REM wire straight to my battery so that it was constantly on.. anyways when i was reconnecting the wire to turn on my amp it touched a little piece of copper from my ground wire, my radio doesnt turn on now, now do i know if my amp is even working.. anyone know what happens if you touch the REM with the ground wire? i mean i checked all my fuses nothing has any sign of blowing out, but still my radio won't turn on and without my radio on my amp won't turn on. plz help.. thx.

Re: REM wire touched my ground wire.. how can i fix the issue?

Seems like this is more a question for a car audio forum and not a Saturn specific issue.

This doesn't add up. If you wired the REM wire straight from the battery, the amp will turn on and stay on regardless of whether or not the radio is turned on.

If the REM wire didn't have a fuse installed in it and you just briefly touched it to the ground wire, it should just make a spark. However, if the radio is aftermarket (not factory) and connected to the amp with RCA patch cords, it may have blown the fuse for the radio or the CHIME fuse on certain Saturns since the RCA patch cords are also connected to ground internally at the amp and the radio. There is a slim chance it may have fried the radio too.

Make sure to check the fuse behind the radio (if it is an aftermarket radio), amp main power fuse, fuse on amp if equipped, REM wire fuse if installed, and the CHIME fuse in the I/P fuse block if it is a 1991-1999 Saturn S-Series too.
