Unhappy Question on dash lights

1997 528i On the lower r/s of the dash has a "BRAKE" bulb lit. Not the Hand Brake one the one to the right of it. Can someone explain what this is in reference to. I've replaced Rotors and Pads But the light is still lit. It just has the word "BRAKE" thanks in advance......

Most likely the wear sensor for the pads needs to be replaced. There is one in the front, and one in the rear brakes. Once the coating is worn away and it lights, it has to be replaced. They're less than $15ea.

It could also indicate the mileage interval to replace the brake fluid, but that usually displays near the maintenance/oil change display.
