1994 4 cylinder 2WD Ranger random stalling

My Girlfriend has a 94 Ranger with 236000 miles! The truck is a champ, but it's having a few issues I would like to resolve for her. After driving it for awhile then shutting it off, sometimes it won't start right away. It needs to sit for a couple minutes then it will turn over. Now this doesn't happen every time, but I'm sure it will only get worse. No check engine light has come on either. Not real sure where to begin, point and I shall follow

If it wont turn over at all after shutting off I would check the battery cables first. But is probably the starter solenoid . If its turning over but wont start after warmed up might be crank position sensor

Where is the crank position sensor located ? And how would I test to see if that is the problem ?

Re: 1994 4 cylinder 2WD Ranger random stalling

dont know where its at on the 4 cyl engine, But it was about a 40 dollar part on my 4.0 ltr engine . My truck would start cold fine and run great but after shut off and hot it just turned over, might start and run a few seconds 1 time. but then it just acted like it was out of gas until I waited till it cooled down. Good luck with it hope its the problem

Update
The last time I had this problem I noticed the fuel pump wasn't turning on. I let the truck sit for a day and it started after a couple of attempts, but I still didn't hear the fuel pump. that was two days ago and the truck seems to be working correctly. WTF is wrong with this damn thing? Please help I really don't want to pay a mechanic to tell me it's something easy.
