Dash Lights Flickering

Hello all!
I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon with 84,000 miles. My dash lights (digital clock, compass, etc) has been to flicker for some reason or another. Has any of you had this type problem before? If so, how did you resolve it? Can it be shortage in the electrical system or what? Thanks in advance.............
