Problem removing IDI Cover

I am trying to remove the IDI cover to change my spark plugs on my 2005 Sunfire with a 2.2 Liter Ecotec motor. There is a metal bracket that lifts the throttle cables above the IDI cover that needs to be removed. The bracket appears to be held in place by a nut. After removing the nut the bracket stays firmly in place. I tried to pry the bracket away from the IDI cover but it does not budge. I did not want to use excessive force to prevent damage.


How does this bracket come off? I cannot see how bracket can stay on to remove the IDI cover since the cover has to go straight up.
