Leaking fuel filter

Hello. Replaced fuel filter in my 2000 Monte Carlo SS two months ago. All was well until yesterday. Lots of fuel leaking out where filter nipple snaps into fuel line leading to gas tank. Is there some kind of gasket or fitting that goes into the fuel line where the filter nipple fits into it?
It's worked fine for the past two months.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!....scott
