engine swap: 2.8 to 4.3?

ive got a 85 S-10 Blazer with the 2.8 V6. The engine has no power and ive looked for performance parts for a while and found nothing. Would it be better just to do an engine swap? I was thinking about swapping in the 4.3 Vortec. Or maybe the GM Performance 3.4 V6. I have about 3 grand to spend and selling the truck is not an option. anyone have ideas of what would get more performance?

i'd go with the 4.3 vortec. stock hp is about 180. add a chip, intake, exhaust, ignition, and cold air and it'll move pretty good

Re: engine swap: 2.8 to 4.3?

I've thought about the 3.4, It says it slides right in and is built for a 2.8 fitting... Less hassel in fitting something else in there, My opinion...
