car seems restricted
My car seems to slow down and fell really restricted when i get towards redline, i was just wondering if there was anything (mods) i could do to feel power all the way to redline, or if something is up with my car.

Its a 1.6L SOHC... DEAL WITH IT!
If you want more performance, look at a better engine. Cams, cam gears, intake manifold, throttle body, higher compression pistons & rod setup - list goes on and on. You can "max out" your little SOHC - or get the same performance, except with room for improvement with a larger displacement motor.

Hey I was just wondering, would my gay 1.5L SOHC Non-vtec engine break if I got it to rev as high as the DOHC's? I mean I love it when the DOHC's reach their high RPMS. Mine is restricted around 7,2000 and the dohc's are around 8,500 (could be less Im not exactly sure) I was wondering that if I got my engine revving just like the dohc's by chipping it or removing the governer, would there be any damage? Are these lil engines able to handle the higher rpms?
Thanks all

Just because you chip it - doesnt mean you should rev it to that level. Theres a reason they make redline where they do on the SOHC. A chip doesnt magically strengthen the valve springs and retainers or the rest of your head parts - you need to do that before you can go throwing higher revs - or youll be posting about busted springs, bent valves, and nasty motor damage...

u guys don't need to rev up higher then ur rev limit. w/ only simple bolt-ons, ur jus going to lose power after ur redline (even before that for some motors). the DOHC VTEC motors rev forever because that is wut they have to do in order to make their power numbers...
don't waste ur money on a chip to raise the rev' limit...its pointless.

Problem is the engine. There is a simple fix tho.... get an 6 or 8 cylinder anything else.
