I may be getting one of these and I need some help.

I may be getting one of these as a graduation present but I know virtually nothing about this car. I can't find any specs on this thing at all on the web; I've been looking for hours now. My parents are looking at a 93 but I don't know what trim level it is. Here are my questions.

1. How long do these cars last? Ex 100,000 miles, 200,000 miles, 300,000 miles, more?

2. ANY specs would be appreciated. I know nothing about these cars.

3. What are some common problems with these cars and how easy/expensive are they to fix?

well mines got 224k on it right now, no problems, so if the previous owner took care of it, its going to last a really long time

www.autotrader.com for specs.

Basically if it has white face guages and black trim around the windows, it's an SE, if it has black guages and chrome trim, it's a GXE.

GXE = 160 HP
SE = 190 HP

It should last a long time, but if it is an auto, really have the transmission checked out. The 5-speeds are typically better.

Maxima's are built to perform AND to last. Continue to change oil/filter every 3000 miles...treat it like its your girl. Yes, check out the transy as well. The brakes are ok, but not top notch. Since its v6, you'll be satisfied.

I suggest to look for the generation above it. 95-96...they have a nicer looking body style.

But I don't have a girl!!! Thanks for rubbing it in...

You can also grab the vin number and carfax it to see if there were any major problems with the car. My Maxima is running strong at a whopping 10,000 miles.
