Congrats on making the best possible choice for your first car. The KA-T would be your best choice for a drag car, and the SR should be kept for autocross and drifting.

first of all, it depends on how much money you have, i know people who have blown 12k on their sr swaps to make around 400 something hp, and the turbo kits cost around 4 grand for the ka, right now it would be cheaper for you to just drop in a SR, but with the KA you would have to rebuild then buy turbo and stuff. depends on your budget and stuff, the SR is a more capable turbo engine...

ALTHOUGH id go with the RB25DET!

True that the SR is already turbo stock, but that doesn't make it the best candidate for drag racing. You don't have to rebuild your KA to turbo it, as they are relatively bulletproof in stock form. And with drag racing, it's only a matter of time before you break something, and we all know that KAs are much cheaper to replace than SRs. Not to mention the fact that the powerband of the KA-T is better for dragging, not the RB, not the SR. The KA-T is for drag racing, no matter what anyone says.

I wouldnt go as far as to say one motor is better than the other for drag racing. Besides, if drag racing is your concern, why not swap in a V8 auto and be done with.

welcome fellow canuck! i wish i could find a deal as sweet as that...

a couple of months ago, i DID find a deal as sweet as that, and pretty much owned the car. it needed alot of the same stuff as yours does. suspension, engine, brakes etc. but after i paid, i found out that the frame needed rust work done, and that would've simply sucked up too much money. so i got my $250 back (told ya it was a good deal) and the car is still there. i think once i get my next 240, i'll probably buy that one as a parts car.

how much money do you think you'll have to put into yours? maybe if it doesn't need too much, i can salvage that car and make it driveable...
