HVAC Hose Fittings
Hey guys,
I fixed a leak in my AC system and now want to pull a vacuum and make sure it will hold. A friend of mine lent me a vacuum pump, however, my R134A gauge set service hose has a larger fitting than what is on the pump. My friend said it was an old commercial pump. Does anyone know what sizes I may need for adapters to get the R134A hoses on? Aren't the 134A fittings larger than the R12 fittings of yore? I haven't been able to find anything that adapt from R134a to R12, but many items that will adapt from R12 to R134a. Any advice is appreciated. thanks, matt

Re: HVAC Hose Fittings
Not sure how the fitting is attached to your pump but you can get the right fittings in a R134a fitting conversion kit for cars/trucks. Just unscrew the old style and screw in the new one...$10 at any auto store, Walmart, etc.
