89 hard starting/ when cold/ issues

89 EFI that after setting a couple of days won't start until I pump the accelerator petal a couple of times. Not a problems if run every day or haven't noticed any yet but I guess it might be coming if I don't correct this. Where should I begin with the simple things first please? Thanks,

Start by checking to see if the ECM has generated any error codes.
It could be anything from a TPS problem to a fuel pump problem.
