Keyless remote

I have 1993 Buick Regal, 4 dr, 3.8 engine. Remote key control began to not work at times. 2d remote acted identically (when 1 did not work the other did not work & when 1 worked both worked). Replaced battery in 1 unit. Both remotes continued to act the same.

When car sets out in sun and interior gets hot, both units work. After driving a few miles and car cools inside, neither remote works.

Dealership wants $77. to diagnose plus $38 to re-program remotes in case that is the problem. A module (receiver) would cost $160. + if that is determined to be the problem.

Has anyone experienced this type problem? Also can anyone furnish me the programming instructions. I thought it wouldn't hurt to reprogram although it might not can be done depending on type of problem.

Any asistance will be greatly appreciated.

As a GM tech I would have to say by your complaint that you need to replace the reciever. The key bit of info is that both remotes act the same, the only thing they have in common is the reciever. Over the years I have changed many recievers.
