2002 Accord Dyno results

Got it in on Wed just to see what the bolt on's were really worth. Results were 137 hp at the wheels and 134 lbs torque. That is the best of three pulls. I was told that this wasn't a full load dyno (not sure what that means) but, the guys at OPAK told me that they could get me on at Infineon Raceway after I got my AEM Cam Gear and have them dyno it and do a A/F map. I have a feeling that I am running a little lean at wide open throttle, because I was getting detonation at 6100rpm.

Anyone know what the Accord 02 has at the wheels stock?

mods

Tsudo Cat Back Exhaust
AEM Cold Air Intake
DC 4-2-1 Ceramic Headers
AEM Power Pulley Kit
Hyperground wires

That's it for the engine...for now.

Like I said, probably going for the AEM adjustable Cam Gear next and turbo sometime down the road. But I have to work on my suspension first.

The reason I asked is cause I was wondering how would your fuel map run lean with simple bolt-ons?

fuel

good question...too much air flow at wide open throttle?? I didn't do the A/F map on the dyno this time around, I will do it next time to really see, but the guy told me that the ECU will reset for bolt on's like CAI and Headers etc, but at wide open throttle it reverts back to a standard setting. He mentioned "open loop", not sure what that meant.

I doubt you could get too much air flow at WOT. Don't get me wrong, I'm no expert but Iit's not like a CAI is a form of forced induction. He was correct that the ECU will adjust to mods itself but at WOT I'd expect that, even if it did revert back, the stock fuel map would dump more fuel to compensate and in no way would run you lean. If you were'nt checking the fuel map on the dyno how do you know that you were running lean? I know you said detonation but are you sure that's what it was? The whole thing just sounds fishy. If any one knows the answer please chime in.

Wierd. Never heard of that before and a car with just bolt-ons. If it turns out that you're correct about running lean than I suggest a VAFC to richen that shit up.

vafc

yup...already looking into it. I will probably go with the safc since the accord vtec doesn't kick in at a set rpm and apexi said that the vafc won't work correctly on the 4cy sohc accord. I figure all I need right now is some fuel management, I can do without the vtec feature.

If the VTEC x-over is'nt at a set point what effects the x-over to egage at different rpms? Forgive me I know didley about new Accords. Yeah the SAFC is a better idea in that case.
