Question Blazer Seats

Please excuse me if this topic has been brought up before. I'm new to this. I just got some great info from Tireburner regarding keyless remote programming. Thank you. I do have a problem regarding the seat recliners for my 2000 Blazer. I'm sure you've all experienced the same thing. The recliner pulls snap off after a while. What gives? I do have a couple of questions. I went to the dealer and was told it would be $250.00 a seat to fix (both of mine are broken). Is this crazy? Question 1. Is this a recall item? 2. Can it be fixed easily with some mechanical skills? 3. Is it an expensive item to purchase and install on my own? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

i the same problem with my seat recliner in my 99 blazer. I was just wondering how go about taking the fabric off of the seat. I know you have to remove it to be able to change the recliner mechanism. Its probably fairly simple, i just havnt had the time to go look at it and figure it out for myself.

do you have any diagrams or set of instructions for the removal of this piece?

thanks in advance for your help

The recliner is real easy! Remove the 2 handles, you will have to unsnap the seatback seat cover and pull the cover up to expose the 2 top bolts. Nextb gentlely pull up the seat bottom cover to expose the other 2 bolts. Remove the 4 bolts, remove the cable if attached at the bottom of the recliner. Next pull the recliner off most of these trucks have a rod that goes from one side to the other side make sure you install the rod or the seat won't recline. Swap the plastic cover off the broken recliner. and reverse the operation to install. You need more info let me know or Bowtie!

I'm in North Buffalo near the Kenmore village line. I'm a couple of blocks away from Kenmore. When are you coming up?
