Where did you put your transmission cooler?
Hi All,
I just ordered the biggest JEGS XHP Transmission Cooler (30000 GVW) that measures 11" x 11-5/8" x 3/4" for my 2002 Venture. I plan to connect my new external trans cooler inline with the current trans cooler built into the radiator (i.e., connect the return line/top trans cooler line from the radiator to the input of my new external trans cooler). Where do you guys recommend placing the transmission cooler? It looks like the easiest location would be in front of the radiator and towards the passenger side since this is where the transmission cooler lines are located. But I'm afraid this will impact the radiator's cooling efficiency. Where did you guys place your transmission cooler? Does anyone have any pics of where you placed a trans cooler for your Venture? Also, how difficult was it to add an external trans cooler? Last edited by noetic1; 08-30-2010 at 11:53 AM. |

Re: Where did you put your transmission cooler?
I ran into the following post from a Chevy Astro forum where the guy added a trans cooler. The middle pic shows the fittings that came with his trans cooler so that he didn't have to cut the return line.
I called Jegs but the sales rep didn't know what size fittings are for a 2002 Venture with the 3.4L engine. Can you please reply back if you know the correct fitting size for the male and female ends? Thanks! |
