Pics of my custom rear speaker mod

For those who can't afford to buy those o' so hard to find rear speaker pods for our hatchbacks(like me), this is a must do! These are 4x6 speakers that I bought on ebay for only like $20 new! All I did was make a hole for them to fit and screwed them in, I used wire loom to make it look factory and traced the wires to where the taillights are because thats where the factory rear speaker wires are. They sound awsome for being ebay specials.

hey that looks cool nice work

it plugs in right at the taillight harness doesnt it? i always wondered what that little unused plug was for.... 4X6's should fit into the factory speaker pods shouldnt they?

what are factory speaker pods anyways? i thought u meant the plastic tray just under the rear seatbelts

actually i think the factory rear speakers hold 6.5" speakers. That rare rear speaker pod replaces the rear shelves on our cars. I dont have any pictures of them though.

yes they are for 6 1/2 speakers.

i bought rear speaker brackets from the dealer a little over a year ago. they were like thirty bucks i think.

heres a pic of em on Ami's car, they are right near the seatbelts, right where the rear cover thing attaches.....

i like it m8, i had to cut the metal on mine to fit in the 6x9's now i neeed to make an MDF one or get another shelf and buy some speakers the same size as yours
