Difference in door panels from 88/89/90/91

Does anyone know if the rear door panels of the 4th gen sedans are interchangeable between years, and if so what years can be swapped? My left rear door panel is ripped to hell and I need to know what I can replace it with that ASAP.

There are even differences across trim levels..I was ripping some parts off an EX (same exterior and interior color as my DX) and its panels were a different fabric..it also had power windows/locks, etc..so the cutouts and stuff were different..I did take the little pocket off the door panels tho, cuz I could easily screw those to my DX panels

As for years, I would venture to guess the 88-89s are the same and the 90-91s are the same.

Tell me what you are looking for (year, color, trim level) and I'll find out if I can get some at my next junkyard trip (for a 90-93 Teg rear brake setup ) - there were quite a few 4g4d's at the junkyard....bad for them, but good for me in terms of looking for parts

later

don't the 88-89 and 90-91 seat belts mount differently...therefore making the panels more year specific. meaning you need either the 88-89 OR the 90-91 version depending on where the belt mounts.

i seem to remeber the 90-91 having "auto" seatbelts which the 88-89 does not have

anyone with a 90-91 care to speak up and let us know for sure?!?!?

I think the door panels would be the same cause even though the 90-91's have auto seatbelts they are in the roof and not attached to the door at all, unlike the hatch the 88-89 has the seatbelts on the pillar instead of in the door

okay....i just got an idea (yea for me :silly2: )

you have a 90 and i have an 89. take pics of your door panels and when hooptie gets home tonight, i'll take pics of it's panels. that way they can be directly compared by all inquiring minds.

good idea. Melt and me prolly have the same except I have a DX and it is grey, so it might be a li'l different than his. I have this pic leftover from my seat install...there is a li'l sun glare but it might help.

I need a 89 with manual seatbelts, so I can get a Teg armrest/console

But then I'd put 91 fenders to get rid of the screws and taillights and shit on it cuz I think they look better.

My car doesnt have auto seat belts, and the seatbelt only touches the door along the top of the window anyways doesnt it? Anyway color doesnt matter cause I am painting and reupholserting the doors anyways. It just has to be manual windows and locks. Just wondered what years I could raid at the junkyard so I dont pay for a panel and have it not fit. My car is an 89 DX and the interior looks the same as stanleys except for the auto belts... cant really tell if they are different or not though
