Brake Hardware Question

I have a 1999 Grand Prix GTP and am looking for a part number or a place to order new bolts for my front caliper brackets. The old bolts are rusted and the heads are beginning to round off. I'm not sure how much more abuse they'll take. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

- Justin -

Re: Brake Hardware Question

The caliper bracket to knuckle bolts are available from the dealer. The caliper slides, that bolt the caliper to the bracket, are available from any parts store. You can get a front caliper hardware kit that will have the new rubber boots, slide pins, and shims or you can get just the slide pins/bolts.

Re: Brake Hardware Question

Thanks for the help! After searching and searching I figured the bracket bolts were dealer only. I'll have to make a trip up there tomorrow. Would you by chance have a torque number for those bolts? My Haynes manual has been MIA since I moved.

Re: Brake Hardware Question

Thanks for the part number, I called the dealership today and was told there were none showing in stock and the part is on back order. Does anyone have an extra set of bolts or have a way to get any? I was told there was no telling when they could actually get them into the dealer.

Re: Brake Hardware Question

the newest part number for those bolts are as follows:

97-early 99, 11519132 (replaces 18023539 Bob gave you) w/spacer (14mm x 2 thread, 48.5mm long)

late 99-01, 88965594 w/o spacer (14mm x 2 thread, 41mm long)

It doesn't say, but I believe they are a 10.8 hardness rating, so you can use the specs above to see if a hardware or nut and bolt place may have replacements (since the factory bolts are on back order). Don't forget to apply threadlocker so they won't back out on you.

Re: Brake Hardware Question

I'll have to call around and see if anyone has bolt that would fit. I got a used set coming from ed morad that I would hope are in better condition than mine. Those will make due until I can get some new replacements.

Thanks again for all your help guys!
