Re: 2000 cougar new alt and battery still battery light on
Check to see if the green/black wire on the alt connector is grounded with the connector unplugged. If it is than you'll need to track down a wiring issue between the instrument cluster and that connector. If it isn't than you may have an alternator that functions but that particular function is not working correctly.
