That would have been me, talking about the CA18DET sold by Jspec Auto... I don't think they have any in stock, since I just checked today... They will however do a SR20DET with shipping and taxes for $1949, but it has no intercooler.
Since you've got a Monte, I'd advise doing the 3.8 SC instead. They're quite strong motors... I was talking with you on MSN, I think, but my connection crashed... What I was suggesting was going for a full rotating assembly from Scat or Crower, a matching set of 4340 crank and rods, and a set of forged pistons for a 4.2 liter stroker motor, with 8:1 compression. Turbocharged, you could get 600hp or more out of that motor, at which point your problem becomes the transmission, and torque steer ![]() That's about a $5,000 engine build, by the way.
