New Engine

Did anyone post anything about an engine I could buy in Canada for 900 bucks? That was a good one....

That would have been me, talking about the CA18DET sold by Jspec Auto... I don't think they have any in stock, since I just checked today... They will however do a SR20DET with shipping and taxes for $1949, but it has no intercooler.

Since you've got a Monte, I'd advise doing the 3.8 SC instead. They're quite strong motors... I was talking with you on MSN, I think, but my connection crashed...

What I was suggesting was going for a full rotating assembly from Scat or Crower, a matching set of 4340 crank and rods, and a set of forged pistons for a 4.2 liter stroker motor, with 8:1 compression. Turbocharged, you could get 600hp or more out of that motor, at which point your problem becomes the transmission, and torque steer

That's about a $5,000 engine build, by the way.

My lugnut requires more torque than your LS1 makes.

Yeap, if not more...I was just pricing 383 and 396, and 401 strokers for my motor yesterday, and was getting average estimates upwards of 7k So yea, I'm definately not doing that, lol.
