help with ignition module wiring

hey guys i need to replace the plug that goes to my ignition control module(i think thats what it is called big gray plug under the disty)anyway my question is the harness for that on the passengers side of the motor,is that harness small or is it connected to everything on the motor? and any ideas on where to buy new or used?if its just a small harness i`ll just replace that,if it is part of the whole harness then i will just wire in a new plug? any help is appreciated thnx bb

You need to purchase a new harness if you want to replace the part connected to the plug. Purchase a good used plug with enough wire to get to good wire. Walmart sells some connectors with thread plugs on the ends they provide a good connection use silicon to coat the ends.
They have a tapered bar and the wire goes around it and the plastic threaded ends lock the wire in place. They give a good chance of a lasting repair.
If you solder them you need a work station as with excessive heat the wire will break next to the solder joint.
