trouble puting gas in tank

i have a 2006 silverado, when im pumping gas the pump keeps kicking off like its full. a guy was saying theres avalve i need to replace. any idea what the part number is and where to buy it? code is po 446 thanks

Fuel tank vent solenoid. I think there is an updated kit for that model. Your GM dealer will have the kits in stock. Its pretty common!

this issue usually means the fuel vent is restricted. causes are overfilling the fuel tank then parking the vehicle instead of burning off the excess fuel. black goo from the charcoal canister then migrates to valves and the lines to create a blockage...the other operation would be off road driving the dust fouls the venting output..

my sons good for toping off the gas. so i will take it off and clean it or buy a new solenoid.thanks
