Non-factory Keyless Entry problem (97 camaro)

I had a Clifford Matrix 1 keyless entry/alarm installed on my 97 camaro and everything works fine except for one thing. After turning the car off and waiting about 30 seconds, the keyless entry no longer unlocks the doors. The door unlock buttons also stop working.

I think this is some kind of factory anti-theft feature or something but I don't know of a way around it. It works fine for about 30 seconds but after that, it will lock but not unlock.

I tried programming mode and changed the exit lighting/delayed illumination settings and nothing worked. Any suggestions?
