AC colder on right side

I have a 2000 Venture that blows colder on the right vents. Any ideas folks?

Thanks

Re: AC colder on right side

Yeah, the Evaporator is in the far right side of the dash. It will be colder there.

Is it hot on one side and cold on the other or what? Take a thermometer and measure the temp in either side after running awhile. (preferrably in the shade.)

Re: AC colder on right side

Typical low charge scenario, the evap inlet feeds the passenger side- the evap outlet feeds the driver's side-- when charge goes low (due to a leak) then there is not enough refrigerant to cool the entire evap.....

Find and fix your leak (shaft seal and compressor body o-rings are number one locations- then evac and recharge to factory spec and cooling will return to driver's side.

Re: AC colder on right side

If you have the rear heat/air option, the system takes two cans of coolent...

I recharged our sytem this spring and couldn't get it completly cold until I put a second can in.

My leak was at an o-ring. Easy fix.
