2002 Bravada wont start

I have a 2002 Bravada. Drove to the store this morning and when I went to go home, the car won't start. The engine is not even trying to turn over. Everything else is working. The weird thing is that when the air conditioner is turned off, it will turn itself back on. Thought it might be the alternator at first but now wondering if maybe there is a short somewhere?? Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

When you say, "The engine is not even trying to turn over." Do you mean that the starter will not engage or the starter engages but the engine will not run? If the starter will not engage, I would suspect an open circuit, not a short circuit. Disassemble, clean, and tighten all battery and starter connections. Post back your results.

Re: 2002 Bravada wont start

It ended up being the starter. Banged on the starter while turning key and it started..so thanks for your reply. Still don't know whats going on with the air conditioning but that is probably two separate issues! Thanks again!
