Best place to buy a Regal Window Regulator

It is a 2002 Regal front RH Window regulator. I am wanting advice from others that have bought aftermarket regulators. Sometimes I buy from amazon and I see they sell one from Doorman for $65. I see them on Ebay new for around $45.

1 amazon review said it worked fine. It was made in Tiwan. I'd imagine they are all made is Asia. The dealer price is real high so I am curious what experience you guys have.

Right now I am holding the window up with a small pair of vise grips. Its 109 outside today in AZ and the window fell down yesterday on the way to work. I have had 4 replaced under warranty and last year I paid close to $600 to have the drivers side replaced. It was a broken plastic clip that holds the end of the cable. I think the same happened on the right side. Does someone know where you could buy a clip as well? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Rod

Yes I know ebay is the least expensive but do they last? Not necessarily looking for cheapest but reliability and how they function. Will the old motor fit, just in case? Can anyone give me info?

Try Parts-Pro on EBay based out of Lafayette, Louisiana. I got three power window regulators over the past two years for our '99 Regal LS either with or without drive motor and they work fine. If your motor is good just replace the regulator assembly and use the old motor if good. The motor is very easy to replace.

Thanks for the info. I'll look them up and give them a try. It doesn't appear to be difficult to replace. I'll have to test the old motor. Can I test the motor once I take it off the regulator?

Yes you can on or off the window regulator assembly. Just replug the motor electrical connector and the connector to the door window controls from the door panel.

If the motors are good then you can save money on parts. I recall the regulator assembly less motor ran around $25.00.

I did each door around one hour time each which included cleaning.

Re: Best place to buy a Regal Window Regulator

Replaced the regulator but it appears the right window switch does not work. The window works fine using the left side control with the right switch plugged in. If the right side is not plugged in the left side does not open the right window.

If this is normal do I need a new right side switch? I have yet to find what years are interchangeable. However all I can find are used switches and from earlier years. Does someone sell a new switch other than the dealer? Thought I'd just post to the same thread.

Thanks, Rod

Re: Best place to buy a Regal Window Regulator

It sure sounds like the right window switch. Have you tried getting a used or pull part from a salvage yard? Or try Ed Morad at his Ebay parts store. He specializes in GM "W" body cars like the Regal. I'd have to double check but the switches should be similar for '97.5 - '04 Regal.

Re: Best place to buy a Regal Window Regulator

I'll check out the guy you mentioned. The switches look the same, someone should know. Like you I think the switch is bad, sad because its only been used a few times. Thanks
