94 Century Doorlocks

Don't know if it's common with all models but as soon as I take the trans out of Park the doors lock & then unlock when put in Park & motor turned off. This gets aggravating if you want to leave the motor running & jump out for a minute.
Is there a way to disable this feature?

Re: 94 Century Doorlocks

I guess I spoke too soon.
They worked like I wanted when I cranked it up & moved back & forth in the driveway with THE DOOR OPEN! Must be some safety mechanism in there somewhere.
After closing the door they go right back to locking as soon as I put it in gear but with the fuse pulled they won't unlock when it's put back in park.
Any other ideas?? This thing's making me nuts.

Re: 94 Century Doorlocks

it is a government mandated safety feature, not much you can do about it.
