Exclamation CV / Driveaxle

So I'm trying to replace the driveaxles on my 03 Passat Wagon. Having a problem removing the upper control arms from the steering knuckle. It says to remove the nut then slide the bolt out. Well, I removed the nut, but that bolt feels like its welded in. Any suggestions in removing it? Also, I've read that it's suggested to replace the bolt w/ a new one. Is that necessary?
Thanks for your help...

**I updated the post with a couple of pics. I have an arrow pointing to the bolt in question on one of the pics. It's supposed to only have threads on the one end and be smooth thru the middle. So, I don't understand why it's giving me such a hard time....
