starter works without starter relay?
my starter relay in my 93 sport is clicking when I turn the key to the run position. my starter cranks over just fine. the real weird thing is that my starter will crank over even if I remove my starter relay. to me this makes no sense. I will clean the connections asap to try to stop the clicking but I would like to know why my starter will still crank without the relay installed. Also, I swapped out the relay and it still clicks. I can swap starters too but trying to avoid that. Have other pressing problems to address.

Re: starter works without starter relay?
I feel real stupid here. I was looking at the relay/fuse chart wrong. Car won't start if starter relay removed. My fuel pump relay and fuel pump are clicking bad and I assume fuel pump needs replaced. I do have fuel pressure to the rail but don't know how much. Should be enough to fire up engine. Before I replace pump though I want to hear this thing run. I have spark at coil but not at plugs. will do new thread for that.

Re: starter works without starter relay?
try a shot of carb cleaner in air intake if it starts you will need to check fuel pressure with a gauge
good luck
