Instrument cluster issues

The cluster is going wacky on our '99 Windstar SEL, and even the tach needle is partially broken off now because of being jammed all the way around. The rest of the guages and speedo act up also and it seems to be getting worse with time. Has anyone found a solution for this? I'm assuming that others have encountered this issue before also.

Thanks,
Phil

Re: Instrument cluster issues

Well, took my 99 Winnie in today for an inspection - Failed due to this problem. The instruments have been going wild for about a year and was hoping they wouldn't during inspection. I researched this quite a bit and it looks like it has to do with a contact weld on the smaller of the two boards on the back of the Instrument cluster. Must be fixed (welded) to correct. They have companies that do the repair. Not sure you want to do yourself? Repair is about $200 including shipping and you have to remove which doesn't seem too hard.
